Happy New Year!

I'm jumping on the resolution band-wagon! 2010 was a year of huge changes in my body, my faith, in my family, and in my financial situation. 2011 will also be a huge year of changes. This morning, I'm setting 2 goals for myself, which I believe will impact my entire little world.

First off, I will be setting out time each and every day to exercise, whether it be dancing with the baby, strapping her on and taking a walk, or leaving her with HubbyButt so I can go out and run. My body is a wreck from having a baby; I gained a ton of weight and if I wasn't squishy before, I sure am now. I know I love running, it's just a challenge for me to get out and do it.

Secondly, I will set aside time every day to spend in prayer, just talking to my Father. I will use that time to sit quietly, reading my Bible and being open to what He lays on my heart. 2010 taught me that I can do all things through Christ, and that He does make all things work together for the good of His children.

I strongly believe that those two goals will leave a strong and lasting impact on my whole world. By purposing to become active, I will be able to become a happier person, since exercise releases serotonin in the brain, and since I will actually start feeling better about myself, I will be able to treat HubbyButt better (2010 was the year of the bad wife).

By purposing to build a strong relationship with Christ, I believe that He will give me guidance in the big stuff, as well as the little, everyday trials we all go through. It is my belief that tithing is a very important part of a Christ relationship, and that has been proven to us in the last year (we tithe in April, we're blessed with a house in May; we tithe in October, we're blessed with new friends and a car in November; see a pattern?); I will do my best to put at least something in the offering plate on a weekly basis, even when I have little or nothing to give.

What are your goals for 2011?

  1. I'm super jealous that you can run! I was never interested in it before but I tried to jog after having Felix and I can't now. I have too much extra skin or something from being pregnant and it just hurts every time I bounce :( I need to start exercising too. I like to play Wii Fit but Felix doesn't like to let me do it for very much time. I definitely need to start taking better care of my body though! Come live near me so we can have play dates and exercise!

  2. Or you could move back here!!! :-D

The bounciness was why I had my reduction done in HS; it made any physical activity impossible.

  3. It's not just my boobies though. Stupid used-to-be-pregnant tummy :( Also, NEVER moving back to Bakersfield.
